FC Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in domestic competition over two years after they moved out so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Recent Activities

Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
