Expedition 33 Triumphs at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and in a stunning show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the prestigious Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with prizes for Superb Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's achievements, its talented cast also received individual awards. Jennifer English won Best Lead Performer for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its developers collected seven awards during the event.
Other major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Top Self-Published Indie and Premier PC Title. Notably, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only four awards—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamer Selection—decided by critics.
