Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health arrives after the global fight fans had expressed sympathy for the champion in the wake of the devastating accident.
