Madeleine McCann's vanishing has never been solved

On Monday, the court heard call records and evidence obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test throughout 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - when she was three years old during a trip in Portugal - is among the most publicized missing child cases and continues to be unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

Another phone message, played in court, recorded Ms Wandelt declaring: "I realize I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine had been, but I feel what I know."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording said: "Suppose there is a small chance that I'm her? What then? Wouldn't that be crucial for you?"

"I do not need money, I have a existence here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the message continued.

The panel was advised that via electronic messages, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, forwarded childhood photos to her phone in a bid to show a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and claimed to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

The investigator, a data specialist with the police force who compiled the evidence, informed the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore contacted acquaintances of the McCanns, based on the call data.

On that date, Gerry McCann responded to a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "a wrong number."

During that incident Ms Wandelt recorded a message on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my point."

The court heard Mrs Spragg established a connection via internet with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a trip to the McCanns' property in that area in that winter.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had reached out via messaging service to Mrs McCann to state the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she should be taken seriously in the months leading up to the visit to that location, Leicestershire, in last December.

The court was told correspondence between the two accused, in that autumn, planning trying to get Mrs McCann's genetic material from her trash or from silverware at a dining venue.

"We must take action," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the appearance to their house, Mrs Spragg transmitted a message which said: "We find ourselves sat near the McCanns' residence with our vehicle dark similar to private investigators. I wanted to accomplish this with Peter Andrew I didn't imagine I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The case ongoing.
